Real Life VS The Crucible
In The Crucible, Martha Corey was the wife of a man named Giles Corey. Martha was Giles' third wife according to The Crucible. Giles Corey accused his wife Martha of reading strange books. Mr. Corey also claimed that while Martha was reading the books that he was unable to pray. When she closed the books, he said that he was able to pray again. Giles told all of these things to John Hale who was there to examine the afflicted girls within Salem. When the girls felt that they were beginning to get in trouble, they started to place the blame on the people within Salem. They used the blame game as a way to get back at the people who they did not like and take things that they wanted. Martha Corey was found guilty by the Judges and was sentenced to be hung.
