real life VS the crucible
Ann Putnam in The Crucible was a woman who was depressed because of the loss of her children. Goody Putnam had given birth two eight babies but only one lived. During the trials she did not seem to have any idea that her daughter was faking or that her husband was doing this for land. It is proven throughout the play that she was jealous of Rebecca Nurse because all of her children were healthy and living. Ann Putnam accused Rebecca Nurse of killing seven of her children. They found Rebecca guilty and she was sentenced to hanging.
